    Instructions

    Instructions to make Rava Upma/Uppittu/Semolina Upma:

    1. Dry roast the rava for very few seconds on low flame, keep aside to cool completely.
    2. In a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil & add 1 tsp mustard seeds,1/2 tsp urad dal, 1/2 tsp chana dal,2 green chillies & few curry leaves.
    3. Now saute till the mustard seeds splutter.
    4. Add in the chopped onions, chopped ginger & saute well.
    5. Now pour 3 cups water & get to boil.
    6. Then add 1/2 tsp sugar, salt to taste,1 tsp ghee & mix well.
    7. Keeping the flame on low start adding the roasted rava slowly stirring continuously.
    8. This helps to prevent from any lumps formation.
    9. Mix continuously till the rava absorbs water.
    10. Simmer & cover with a lid on low flame for 5 mints or till upma is cooked well.
    11. Add 1/2 lemon juice & mix well.
    12. Serve the delicious,healthy rava upma/ uppittu with coconut chutney.
